How
do I setup a newstart coaching and consultancy
business. Starting
any business can be quite daunting. You
are going to have to leave the comfort of
your regular paying job to start a high
risk venture.
The positive: The corporate
and business coaching market is one of the
fastest growing industry categories and
represents an excellent opportunity for
people that are wishing to establish themselves
in a new business. It is estimated that
the total industry grosses $1 billion dollars
worldwide and there are over 10,000 full
and part time business coaches.
There are many types of coaching assignments
and coaching packages. According to the
International Coaching Federation website
a business coach could typically expect
to charge between $300 and $500 per month.
And experienced certified coaches, or those
that work with executives or entrepreneurs
start at $500 and go up from there. The
work could typically be performed by a ½
hour phone call per week or packages can
be designed to suit both the candidate and
the coach.
It is a low capital based business that
means that you do not need a great deal
of money to tie up in stock, shop premises
and fittings.

How
do I add coaching to my existing consultancy
business
Coaching is a slightly different
concept to consulting. We explain this in
further detail later in this page. But in
a nutshell, consulting implies that you
identify a problem that a client has and
you propose a solution. Coaching is more
about the facilitation of a process so that
the client can self help.
In reality, the more business
and consulting experience you have then
the more that you will interplay both disciplines
in the one assignment. You will both coach
and at the same time steer your client toward
a solution that from your experience you
know is the best option.

were employed for....to make your client
money. And I don't think that either you
or your client will care whether this is
done through coaching, consulting, mentoring
